Pack Rat

Now I am the first to admit that I'm a pack rat. I stress out about throwing things away because you never know if you are going to need it again, but I've gotten better since I have to be the one to find a place for things. I like to think Coy has helped me with that some of his tidiness has rubbed off on me. Sadly though some of my bad habits have rubbed off on him, like my compulsion to save everything. It first started with exhibit A, the packaging to the thermals I bought him for Christmas and it has been on his night stand since then. He has worn them several times, I've washed them so I don't think were taking them back. Now draw your attention to exhibit B the box his slippers came in, again they are worn all the time and are not going back to the store. This lovely box resides on my dresser, on my side so I get to see it everyday when I get my clothes. And last is exhibit C the box to his snowboarding helmet, also received around Christmas and stays on his night stand. Now you might be thinking leave the man alone, let him save a few boxes. I know I sound mean but I just think it is so funny that it is Coy saving random boxes and not me, its in my nature to do so but it is not in Coy's nature. Usually I am the one getting told to throw things away and asked why do I have this or that. I have so badly influenced him.

The many faces of Emma Trammel

Some models train for years trying to discover their face that model face that identifys them ( if you have seen Zoolander You know what I'm talking about ). Then there are those who are born with it, now I'm not saying Emma is going to be a model but she was definitely born with it. On her own with out any instruction Emma has come up with several model faces. The first was "scrunch face" this one was very cute she would just scrunch her entire face, now this one she will no longer do she said it was to over done and she now refuses to do it. The second was "kissy face"(shown to the far right bottom and middle) this one is my favorite, and still in play. Last night she randomly came up with "crazy face" already mentioned above, I can't wait to see what she will come up with next.

Doing what must be done

Life is always an adventure. We all have been working really hard getting the Strand ready for service and it seems that there are not enough hours in the day. Once Sunday was over we turned our attention to the student ministry room. Painting it, cleaning it, and getting it set up. Once Wednesday night came we were rushing around finishing some last minute details. Sara put all our stuff in a room next door so the active room was free of clutter and she closed the room up. Meanwhile I'm scurrying about setting up my computer and hanging a banner. Then, I saw out of the corner of my eye... a door trying to be opened. It was at this point that I started to realize I had a problem. Sara has accidentally locked all our stuff in the room next door. This included my keys, jacket, Sara's purse, emma's things, and most importantly my teaching binder with my notes for that night. So, I immediately began to into damage control... what can I do now? Who can get me in? What is blan B for the night? After some time of asking around for the keys (which were not even in the building) and trying to pick the lock, I found myself listening to worship in the hall and trying to quietly kick a door down. Needless to say, I was not successful in the endeavor. I had to teach something completely different and without notes (which is sometimes how God likes to do things) and after service Sara tried to push the window, above the locked door, open and it broke. Which gave me the space I needed to climb in and get our things.... What a night!

The Joys of Owning a Melzer

Ok for those of you who dont know, Eric lives in our back yard in a studio apt. He moved up from california with Levi and Jennie. He occasionally peers through our back door knocks and waits for us to motion him in. Usually he comes over for dinner or to do laundry.Today i noticed him on our back porch taking pictures, I thought he was taking pictures of our Christmas tree that we threw back there and haven't gotten rid of. But with further investigation I discovered Eric had set up this fake dove from his Christmas tree on a white snow covered pillar. I know he does lots of weird photo shoots, like with his lunch peanut butter and jelly and even his kitchen sink. But I had never witnessed any of them first hand, until today, I guess that is just one of the joys of owning a Melzer. I'm sure he even blogged about it.

Emma's first picture

Today Emma made her first work of art, like such a big girl she laid down on her belly after finding pens on the coffee table, opened my notebook and started to draw. It took awhile for her to figure it out but once she did she was very excited and loved it. She is so adorable.

We have been at the Strand (the new church building) everyday this week all day today is our last day of work and tomorrow is our first service. All the work and not enough food and water caught up to me, I guess you can only push your self so far when your pregnant. So I decided to take a break and have a snack before I passed out. The above picture show the decadent snacks that I enjoyed. Toasty crackers with peanut butter, gold fish the baked snack cracker, choco creams chocolate cookies with rich creamy filling, fruit snacks, and and small apple not shown. yes all the nutrition a fetus could need.

All the Babies in a Row

Alivia is the oldest, Emma is next, then Zachary, and Lenya is the youngest. Its obvious that Alivia is oldest because she is the biggest she talks like crazy and she is always busy doing something. The only reason you can tell Emma is older than the other babies is because she walks, she weighs around 16lbs and so does Zachary, only he is a few inches longer than Emma. Lenya is catching up she weighs 13 and she looks like she only needs to grow a few more inches to catch up to Emma and Zachary. They are all going to be so much trouble when they are older and can play together more. We need to have a boy for Zachary to play with.

Mommy's little helper

It is amazing how much this past month Emma has been changing from a baby into a little girl. She walks really well now, and almost runs when she is trying to get away from you. Sometimes she will copy words you say, she is starting to use the word no more because we say it to her a lot. My new favorite thing that she says is thank you only it sounds like "tay to". Yesterday while I was unloading the dishes she decided to help. First she handed me every piece of silverware one at a time and said thank you each time she handed me one. She must have made the connection that when she hands me something I always say thank you so she figured she should say it too, and we did for every piece of silverware and every cup until the whole bottom rack was empty. It took twice as long but I enjoyed every minute of it, I would do the dishes like that every time if she wanted too.

DANCE MASTER

What better way to ring in the new year then with a little dance master. You may not know the beauty of "dance master" and that is sad, it is only the most aerobic game out there next to the WII. It was a great time we ate realy good and really hot green chili stew that Brian made (I could eat some right now) we had desserts, there were tasty cookies, Alaina made a Yummy cherry crisp, and I made gold bars reminiscent of middle school. And them it began the uncontrollable dancing and fun. We danced as we counted down to 2008 a beautiful new year. My new year resolution is to be faster and more efficient at doing the laundry.
